Great post! This might be a little different, but I think my version of playing small is giving up on things too quickly. For a lot of my life, quitting jobs, dropping creative projects, and ending relationships became a way of getting out before I had a chance to either truly fail or (gasp) to succeed.

This gives me flashbacks to my own corporate life. Thinking about it, I’m grateful to allies I had (sometimes unbeknownst to me) who spoke up for me, and alliances I formed with other women and people of color who had also been kept in the shadows. There’s strength in numbers, but you’re so right that it starts with you owning it!
Absolutely agree and have been blessed to have great allies and partners but the corporate world has changed so much that people are moving with fear even when they know something is wrong.
